The Bahrain Grand Prix took place on 20 March 2022 at the Bahrain International Circuit and covered a distance of 57 laps of 5.412 km each, for a total distance of 308.238 km. Fernando Alonso of the Alpine F1 Team started the race from 8th position in his Renault-powered A522 race car. In the first race of the season, two-time Formula 1 World Champion Alonso had to give up one position and finished ninth.
The Australian Grand Prix was held at the Albert Park Circuit on 10 April 2022 and covered a distance of 58 laps of 5.278 km, giving a total distance of 306.124 km. Fernando Alonso of the Alpine F1 Team started the race from 10th position in his Renault-powered A522 race car. In the third race of the season, two-time Formula 1 World Champion Alonso was unable to get the necessary power out of his car and finished the race in a disappointing 17th position.
