The 1955 Monaco Grand Prix took place on 22 May at the Circuit de Monaco. Starting from pole position, Juan Manuel Fangio won the starting duel and did not relinquish the lead for the time being. However, a rear axle failure stopped Fangio on lap 49. In total, he won four of the seven races in the 1955 season and thus repeated his world championship title from the previous year without any problems.
