The Mazda 787B from Team Mazdaspeed Co. Ltd. with drivers Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert, Bertrand Gachot was the first Japanese constructor to win the LeMans 24 Hours of LeMans in 1991. Johnny Herbert was so exhausted after a multiple stint at the end of the race that he collapsed from the cockpit after crossing the finish line when getting out of the car. As a result, he missed the victory ceremony on the podium of the top three.
